An innovative company & an experienced enterprise
POWERgrass was founded in 2015 to promote the innovative hybrid grass system to create highly usable and safe sports fields for players. The system is sustainable, designed for the circular economy for the green management of sports centres. POWERgrass applies the principles of regenerative agriculture in the maintenance of turf through technological systems that capture up to 8 times more CO2 offering a positive environmental impact. Monitoring of the "use and maintenance" phase is effective through the reporting of digitalized processes, developed internally by the company.
In 2021 the company becomes Benefit which, in carrying out an economic activity, operates in a responsible and transparent way towards people, communities and the environment; makes its rich knowledge available to develop projects contextualized in the territory with a holistic and far-sighted vision that also takes into account climate change with 30-year scenarios.
The partner company Gli Specialisti del Verde has 20 years of experience in the construction of sports surfaces in natural, synthetic and hybrid grass. The company offered its know-how free of charge for the design of over 1000 sports fields, proposing tailor-made solutions which were then contracted out by various public bodies and participated with its staff and resources in the creation of 200 football, rugby and athletics fields built and approved according to USGA, LND, FIFA and IAAF standards.
The POWERgrass company has always made use of the experience of the company The Green Specialists and together they have promoted and built 30 hybrid fields in Italy and abroad. Thanks also to the collaboration of Daniele Nasini, expert in the maintenance of high professional profile sports fields, the company is now able to offer support for the professional maintenance service that adapts to every spending budget also because in the near future environmental certifications in the "use and maintenance" phase require professional management.
From developing an idea to designing with a holistic vision
Long experience and rich know-how have allowed us to qualify as experts in the construction and maintenance of natural or synthetic hybrid grass sports fields. POWERgrass has developed innovative, sometimes patented designs that few are even able to understand.
For this reason, the design assistance service is free and takes into account all construction, maintenance and disposal costs at the end of the life cycle, as well as external costs for the containment of resources, consumption, resilience to climate change and environmental impact with a holistic vision.
POWERgrass is a hybrid system patented by Dr. Niko Sarris, graduate in Agriculture with more than 25 years of experience in his science applied to playgrounds. In the POWERgrass team we are aware that we must satisfy all market demands and, at the same time, spread this extraordinary technology.
The business model is simple to grow gradually and safely. POWERgrass is ready to go into business with established and qualified partners to assist groundsmen in understanding how best to carry out maintenance so that it becomes easy, economical and ecological. The POWERgrass partners are selected among those specialized in the maintenance of natural grass fields and, among their staff, have staff who are experts in turf issues.
Each new customer follows a training course assisted by expert staff until they acquire the knowledge for the care and conservation of turf. green maintenance is simple and is assisted free of charge for a whole year, through our "follow up" service.
Financing opportunities to amortize the investment over time
An investor who enters the world of sport often doesn't know about financing opportunities because he deals with something else in his professional life. We know how difficult it is to find the funds to invest in sports facilities because the return is often not certain, so we are always attentive to the financing opportunities of our customers so that they can make their dreams come true.
Sometimes, local or national governments offer non-repayable contributions, in a recurring manner, such as through the "Sport and Suburbs" tender. In other cases, they offer a very long payment deferral of up to 20 years at zero interest up to a certain amount, such as the case of Sports Credit "Missione Comuni". Whether it is a contribution or a non-refundable reduction in interest, it often makes a project sustainable from a financial point of view.
As part of the PNRR, the European Commission aims to develop the circular economy, therefore the rubber balls used as infill in entirely synthetic pitches will soon have to be removed according to the ECHA proposal to reduce pollution due to micro-plastics. Vegetable infill materials have high extraordinary maintenance costs and the CO2 balance is negative because they must be continuously replenished; it goes without saying that a well-thought-out hybrid grass system is more far-sighted.
